What’s Hot This Month and a Jellop Partnership, Too
Nicole Amato and Sean Jaffe
Welcome Back, True Believers! Sean Jaffe from Nerdy City here, and I’m here with more exciting questions for Nicole Amato from Kickstarter and GreaterThanGames, and this month we talked a bit about the advertising partnership between Kickstarter and Jellop!
Sean Jaffe: What looks exciting to you this upcoming month? Anything you really suggest getting on board with?
Nicole Amato: Fablecraft: A New Digital RPG is absolutely gorgeous, with an intuitive interface and easy setup. Never Going Home: The Beginning and the End is another great project by Wet Ink Games with another amazing set of writers and designers. Phil Reed is back with Tomb of Zines to keep all of your zines organized! Sentima: Sundered Wilds is a brand new TTRPG that looks promising. Severed Books is currently live with The Dark Glinting with Metal, a Mörk Borg adventure written by award-winning novelist Brian Evenson. And there's also SLAV BORG - A Post-Soviet Semi-Fantasy RPG—it, too, is compatible with Mörk Borg and other OSRs! Penumbra City is unique, gorgeous, and made by a diverse and creative team absolutely bursting with talent. 1978: The Night THEY Came Home is a horror game that looks incredibly spooky. And if video games are more your jam, there's a brand new dungeon crawler now live called Pathfinder: Abomination Vaults - Hack & Slash ARPG, which fans of Pathfinder (and games like the Diablo series!) should absolutely check out.
For advertising, Kickstarter has recently partnered with Jellop, so that's the option we've been recommending folks check out! Chatting with them is the best way to get answers on questions like marketing ramp-up, which can be different depending on your needs.
Sean Jaffe: Can you tell me a little more about this? This is potentially some Juicy info!
Nicole Amato: There's not really much to add that the article doesn't cover! We've also partnered with Easyship and Pledge Manager as well. Everything you need to know is in all those articles! :D
Long story short, Kickstarter’s new partnerships have made crowdfunding with them easier than ever. Jellop (There’s always room for Jellop!) makes advertising simple with an easily controlled marketing campaign. Of particular interest to us cash-strapped game designers is the fact that Jellop only charges a percentage of the revenues directly attributable to their efforts.
They’ve also formed a partnership with Kicktraq’s Pledgemanager, which many former crowdfunders have found to be an invaluable tool. It maintains a close eye on a campaign and keeps you up-to-the minute on pledges and is a huge help on the beach end with fulfillment. Follow the links for more info, and good luck out there!
